Dr Niv Chellappah

Dr Niv Chellappah is a General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) practising in Sydney.
Dr Chellappah graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2012 with Honours. She completed her pre-vocational training at Westmead Hospital with rotations in Cardiology, Renal medicine, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery. Dr Chellappah then commenced General Practice training and has been a Fellow of The RACGP since February 2017.
After completing her Fellowship, she continued to work in general practice, gaining experience in multiple settings. Dr Chellappah then moved to London in 2020, where she obtained GMC Registration and was recognised on the GP Register in the UK before returning to work in general practice in Sydney.
Dr Chellappah is interested in all aspects of General Practice with particular interests in women and children’s health, dermatology, mental health, weight management and providing evidence- based treatment.
She has completed a Diploma of Child Health in 2014 and the Professional Diploma of General Dermatology in 2020. Dr Chellappah has also undertaken training in the insertion and removal of Implanon NXT and removal of Mirena IUD.
Dr Chellappah takes great pride in her work, helping patients with their health needs in a collaborative manner. She understands the duty of care that GPs have towards their patients and always seeks to maintain positive, respectful relationships.
Outside of work, Dr Chellappah enjoys spending time with her young family and her friends.
